Best rugby quotes of all time!

This is a list of my favorite rugby quotes of all time.

Lets start with one of the most widely known ones. purely because its so true!

' Rugby is a game for barbarians played by gentlemen. Football is a game for gentlemen played by barbarians.' - Oscar Wilde.

'You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if its late.' - Ray Gravell.

'Rugby and sex are the only things you can enjoy without being good at them.' -anonymous.

When i first saw this quote from Murray Mexted (former Newzealand rugby player) I laughed at his seemingly mistaken choice of words resulting in a underlying sexual theme.

'I can tell you it's just a magnificent sensation when the gap opens up like that and you just burst right through.'

But since seeing more of his quotes i'm starting to sense a trend.

'You don't like to see hookers going down on players like that.'

'He's looking for some meaningful penetration into the backline.'

'Spencer running across field calling, come inside me, come inside me.'

'I don't like this new rule, because your first instinct when you see a man on the ground is to go down on him.'

'Darryl Gibson has been quite magnificent coming inside Andrew Mehrtens, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the same today.'

'There's nothing that a tight forward likes more than a loosie up his backside.'

'Everyone know's that I've been pumping Martin Leslie for a couple season now.'
One of my favorite quotes was from the time of the 1995 world cup between Newzealand and South Africa.

'Remember that rugby is a team game; all fourteen of you make sure you pass the ball to Jonah.' - Anonymous fax.

Have you ever been completely and utterly pissed of with a ref during a rugby game?

- Well if you've ever watched or played a game of rugby in your life, the answers probably yes.

'I think you enjoy the game more if you don't know the rules. Anyway, you're on the same wavelength as the referee.' - Jonathon Davies.

'Players and spectator at all levels can enjoy sport better if they totally accept two simple rules. Rule 1: The referee is always right. Rule 2: In the event of the referee being obviously wrong, Rule 1 applies.' - Peter Corrigan.

Benji Marshall - superstar.

Benji Marshall is an incredible player of the generally less popular branch of rugby, league. Now i can say that I've never been a great fan of league because I think its slower paced than rugby union but i cannot deny the flair which Benji brings to it with his numerous sidestep's and trademark flick pass.

What amazes me about him is how he can seemingly make something out of nothing. He uses dummy's and sidesteps to confuse his opponents and then he leaves them in the dust with his incredible pace. But not only does have skill at beating opponents while running with the ball he often shows off with flick and behind the back passes which leave you dumbfounded at the skill displayed. And to top it off he is also a very skillful kicker which he uses to his full advantage.

Here's a 15 minute video showcasing some of his best moments, by the way it get better as you go along, enjoy:
